2023 Color of the Year by Sherwin-Williams: Redend Point
Interior home design has seen a continued trend toward warmer neutral color tones. This movement is indicative of homeowners’ desire to invoke emotion through color rather than selecting hues for their aesthetic impact alone. Reinforcing this trend, Sherwin-Williams recently announced Redend Point SW 9081, a mid-tone neutral, as their 2023 Color of the Year. We asked Sue Wadden, director of color marketing at Sherwin-Williams, to help us examine this “soulful-yet-subtle hue” that is taking its place within a much larger movement in interior design.
What is Redend Point?
Part of the Nexus Palette in Sherwin-Williams’s 2023 Colormix Forecast, Redend Point celebrates restorative energy, well-being and kindness. “If beige could blush, this is the color it would be,” Wadden shares. Employing pink undertones that evoke a sense of tenderness and warmth, Redend Point creates an intimate backdrop that is easy to incorporate into any living space.
What Colors Pair Well with Redend Point?
While the qualities of Redend Point allow it to pair nicely with a variety of companion colors, the experts at Sherwin-Williams recommend combining the color with other neutrals to create a warm, inviting ambiance that feels both refined and energizing.
